What Are Runestones?

Runestones are very special items that you’ll want to keep track of if you happen to find them. Largely, this is because they are so rare, and they can open the doorway towards great rewards when you use them to open up a fortress.

You’ll find a total of 10 different types of runestones, each of which contains 10 levels. These types are levels will be important because they decide how difficult the challenge you face in the fortress will be, and the kind of reward you can achieve after the fact.

How Can Runestones Be Obtained?

Unless you opt to spend money on them, runestones are known to be quite rare. Typically, your best bet for finding them is through continuing to hunt down Foundables. As you gather these Foundables and fill up your registry pages, you’ll gain experience points for each Foundable family.

When you fill up that experience bar, you gain access to a treasure trunk. That’s where you’re most likely to find runestones. In extremely rare cases, you may also be able to find them through Portkeys, but that largely remains to be seen. They can also be bought in Diagon Alley.

Where Can Runestones Be Used?

Runestones become relevant when you get to a fortress. After locating a fortress, you’ll get to choose the chamber you want to be in. At that point, you’ll also have the option to choose the runestone you want to add to the room. Keep in mind that you need at least one of these runestones to get into the fortress at all.

After you’ve made your choices, nearby players will have the ability to join you if they choose. Remember, the more the merrier when it comes to taking down a fortress!

What You Need To Know About Runestones

When you’re using runestones, there are a few things you’ll need to keep in mind:

• Use runestones carefully. Because they are so rare, you’ll want to make sure you can complete the fortress that you open.
• Higher fortress levels will result in better loot, but they are also harder to get through. Don’t forget to grab some allies if you’re trying a harder fortress.
• Think about the kinds of rewards you want, as the type of runestone you use will determine this factor.
• You can use level one runestones wherever you want, they just won’t be as rewarding as higher levels.
