There are so many magical creatures in the world of Harry Potter, it’s essentially guaranteed that at least some of them will show up in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
This list will provide you some basic information on just a few of the beasts and magical items you might come into contact with. There are many more out there, but these are some of the most likely choices.
Friendly Magical Creatures
These creatures are either more likely to help you, or just be a little bit mischievous if they show up in the game.
Nifflers
Nifflers are small creatures that appear somewhat like a platypus. While they aren’t dangerous by any means, these little guys do have an obsession with shiny objects!
House Elves
House elves are humanoid beings that stand at a much shorter height and display the pointy ears that one would expect from an elf. They are often seen working as servants, but can be freed with a simple piece of clothing.
Phoenixes
These rare birds show us that ashes can result in life as they repeatedly live out their lives, burst into flames and then begin anew as chicks. Phoenixes also offer healing powers through their tears.
Tricky Magical Creatures
As you’re playing, you may run into creatures that can be either helpful or dangerous, depending on the in-game situations.
Goblins
Goblins are extremely intelligent beings, which is why they are in control of the wizard bank known as Gringotts. While many wizards may view them as inferior beings, they are actually often running things at the core of the economy.
Transfigured Beings
Just about any wizard can learn how to transfigure themselves into the form of an animal or beast. Think Scabbers (A.K.A Peter Pettigrew), or Professor McGonagall. Because of this, you may expect to find either good or bad wizards displaying animal forms.
Werewolves
Like transfigured beings, werewolves can also either be good or bad. The only difference is that they tend to have less control over their transformations.
Obscurus
If left to their own devices, the Obsurus can be incredibly dangerous. However, this manifestation of repressed magical children can also be seen as misunderstood.
Dangerous Magical Creatures
You’ll want to be prepared if you face these creatures in game, as they may be likely to try to take a bite out of you!
Dementors
These terrifying, ghostly beans typically hang out around the Azkaban prison. However, if we’ve learned anything it’s that they can go rogue. Watch out for a kiss of death if you run into these guys!
Basilisks
Basilisks are immense serpents that are dangerous in a number of ways. If you find them in-game, be wary of their gaze, their speed and those sharp fangs!
Dragons
Dragons come in many sizes and forms, so there may be different varieties that show up in the game. In any case, they are likely to be powerful enemies, so you’ll want all your magic at hand!
Magical Items
While there are magical beasts, there are also magical items that may go rogue. These are just a few that we may expect to see in the Harry Potter mobile game.
The Golden Snitch
The golden snitch is a fast, tiny ball that flutters around on a pair of small wings. We see this item displayed in the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite trailer, so it’s likely that they’ll be present in-game as well.
Rogue Broomsticks
In a teaser video released for the game, we see broomsticks flying about without owners. Odds are it will be necessary to stop some of these broomsticks yourself as you play.
Quidditch Balls
Like the snitch, quidditch balls are items we might see flying around in the game. While seeking out a snitch or quaffle might not be too difficult, make sure to watch out for bludgers!
