Although it isn’t clear what role the Hogwarts houses might play in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, there’s a good chance they’ll show up somewhere.
Considering how huge the houses are in the Harry Potter books and movies, it wouldn’t be crazy to expect that you might be sorted, or somehow get the option to select your house. Because of this, it’s a great time to touch up your knowledge of the houses!
Gryffindor
Sporting gold and scarlet coloring, the Gryffindor house is one many heroes hope to join. The symbol of this house is the lion, and the resident ghost for the house is Nearly-Headless Nick. This is also the house inhabited by Harry himself, as well as Ron, Hermione and several other well-known characters.
Pros
Those in the Gryffindor house are known for bravery, courage and a touch of chivalry. When you think of a Gryffindor, you may think of a knight, easily facing just about any danger that threatens them.
Cons
While Gryffindors are certainly brave and admirable, they can also be a bit haughty at times, or rush headlong into dangerous situations.
Ravenclaw
If you truly believe that knowledge is power, then Ravenclaw may be the house for you! The colors that signify this house are bronze and gold, and the symbol you’ll see on their flag is the eagle. Within this house, you’ll also find the house ghost known as the Grey Lady.
Pros
Ravenclaw students are known to be highly intelligent. They believe in the power that can be gained through knowledge, and can often be quite creative! This is definitely the house that values wit over sheer strength.
Cons
Members of this house can be know-it-alls, which can get quite frustrating for the other houses!
Hufflepuff
Sporting black and yellow coloring, the Hufflepuff house is known for its laid-back nature. The Hufflepuff symbol is the badger, and the house ghost is the Fat Friar. While this is a lesser-known house, it’s also the one that Newt Scamander was in during his time at Hogwarts.
Pros
Hufflepuffs are patient and fair, seeking to create peace among those around them. They also understand the value of hard work. This is a house that really enjoys creating happiness for others.
Cons
Due to their need to please others, Hufflepuffs may also be seen as pushovers, or in some cases even enablers.
Slytherin
The Slytherin house is one that is well-known for villains, though not every Slytherin is one. The symbol for this house is the serpent and its representing colors are silver and green. In addition, the Bloody Baron can be seen floating around the Slytherin commons.
Pros
While there are many negative things that can be said about house Slytherin, it’s worth keeping in mind that members of this house can be highly ambitious, cunning and highly resourceful.
Cons
The biggest con for Slytherin lies within the numerous villains that have come from the house, including Dolores Umbridge and Tom Riddle himself.
Which House Suits You Best?
Don’t forget that the traits that make up these houses aren’t the only traits that are present in each student. They are merely the primary ones. A Hufflepuff can be courageous, and a Slytherin can be brave. Knowing this will make your selection, or understanding the house you’re sorted into in the Harry Potter mobile game, a bit easier!
